So you’re done with your book and are ready to publish, Congrats. Before you push the send key though to publish on your favorite ebook platform, don’t forget to put your online marketing in place first.
Consider making a Facebook page just for your book: Name the page with your book name and start with an announcement of the books publication – and a picture of course. All subsequent posts should be related to your book so use the same technique you might to think of tags for a post: Read the book making notes of words that would make good tag. If your book is about Wine but also about vacation spots, don’t forget to use tags related to both of these subjects. This process can be followed for a Twitter account also.
This is a little easier when publicizing non fiction but can be done for fiction – you just may have to give it more though.
Make a webpage either just for this book or if you intend to write more books, even articles, build a webpage for the one book or for you. Consider licensing a name or if you already have a license you can add a DBA (Doing Business As) and use that as a webpage name and domain name.
Find out about doing a blog tour. Pretty much anything you can do in “real life” you can do on the internet so find out about having a blog tour or online event to announce your book.
These are just a few of the avenues you’re going to want to put some effort into before you publish. There are many more and there are even Facebook like pages that are dedicated to writing, etc. Just make sure you have a plan of action before you push that button!
